Service 09 · Hydrogen peroxide vapour bio-decontamination
Operating Theater Decontamination
The bio-decontamination of high-risk areas is a category of its own. Our hydrogen peroxide vapour process is rapid, leaves no residue, and is proven to eliminate problematic HCAI from the theatre environment.

Licensed & certified
Summary
All Island Bio-Recovery is able to effectively and repeatably decontaminate operating theaters after high-risk patients, and as part of scheduled maintenance and refurbishment programmes.
Hydrogen peroxide vapour reaches surfaces that manual cleaning cannot: the tops of luminaires, cable runs, ventilation grilles, the underside of fixed equipment. It condenses across every exposed surface in the sealed volume and then breaks down into water vapour and oxygen, which is why it leaves no residue to wipe off or ventilate out beyond the aeration cycle.
What the work covers
Post-procedure decontamination
Theatre turnaround following a high-risk or known-infectious patient.
Scheduled programmes
Recurring decontamination built into a maintenance calendar rather than run reactively.
Refurbishment and handback
Decontamination before a theatre goes back into clinical use following building work.
Wider clinical estate
Isolation rooms, ICU bays, ambulances, laboratories and clinical waste areas by the same method.
Validation
Biological and chemical indicators placed through the volume, with results documented for your infection control team.
How the job runs
- 01Survey and volume calculationThe sealed volume, air handling and material inventory determine dose and cycle time.
- 02Seal and isolateThe theatre is sealed, ventilation isolated, and sensitive equipment protected or removed to protocol.
- 03Indicator placementBiological and chemical indicators positioned at the hardest-to-reach points in the volume.
- 04Gassing cycleHydrogen peroxide vapour generated and held at concentration for the calculated dwell.
- 05AerationCatalytic aeration until the space is verified below the occupational exposure limit for re-entry.
- 06ReportCycle data and indicator results issued to infection control before handback.
Typically included
- Site survey and cycle design
- Sealing and ventilation isolation
- Hydrogen peroxide vapour generation and dwell
- Biological and chemical indicator validation
- Catalytic aeration and re-entry verification
- No residue and no post-cycle wipe-down
- Out-of-hours and weekend scheduling
- Cycle report for infection control records
On cost
Clinical decontamination is quoted per volume and per cycle, and almost always scheduled out of hours. Where a refurbishment programme is running, a block booking is usually cheaper than calling us theatre by theatre.
Out of pocket, most jobs

Most people we work for pay nothing out of pocket.
Most of our services, crime scene cleanup included, are covered by homeowners insurance. Where a crime has been committed, remediation for eligible victims and their families may be covered by the New York State Office of Victim Services. We work with the carrier directly.
The assessment is free and it happens before any work is agreed. You get a written scope, and you get told honestly which route applies, including when the answer is that nothing here is claimable.
After a tragedy you should not be left with the aftermath of a tragedy and a bill. That has been this company's position since it started.
